Ashes of Maybelle are a five piece post-hardcore band from Coventry in the UK who are rapidly gaining a reputation for incendiary, physical and confrontational live shows, leaving in their wake exhausted bodies and broken instruments. Taking their name from an urban legend about a girl that supposedly spontaneously combusted on a dancefloor in the '50s, the band write songs focused on the live arena with a view to inspire crowd participation.

The band released their debut EP 'We are in Stasis' in March 2013 through all standard digital retailers - four tracks which perfectly capture the technical violence of the AoM sound. The songs were recorded by Justin Gleich at Premier Studios in Corby (Raging Speedhorn, Beecher). This was followed with a headline tour of the UK in summer 2013 and a number of one-off shows up and down the country.

In September 2014, Ashes of Maybelle will unveil the next step in their journey toward musical apotheosis - two very personal singles derived from the dark period that singer Lyle Weir has experienced over the last year. 'Welcome The Night' and 'Limbo' both deal with depression and loss of self-worth; both are an energetic, brutally heavy catharsis of a year of pain with bleak, insightful lyrical positioning atop driving off-kilter rhythms infused with precise technicality and surprising flashes of melody, all of which create a clear statement of intent for the band.

Live, this translates to a physical, fearless experience, with bodies and instruments in constant motion, a clear commitment to delivering the best show possible and to leave the assembled crowd sweaty, broken and elated.
