Chained to Routines (Demo EP 2008):

Matias: In 2008 we released Chained to Routines, a 5-track EP of hardcore metal. We were aiming high with what we saw as a pro-recording session, commissioned art by Alex Eckman-Lawn and a bunch of wisdom from a previous demo-session with scrapped tracks. We wanted to take on the world!

With Chained to Routines we were in Trident v2 with Aleksi Hirvonen on lead guitar, Tuomas on vocs and rhythm guitar and Jukka on drums. v1 included Wille on drums, but Jukka took over the duties when Wille was in the army.

Aleksi: Unforgettable band photo shootings in Porvoo before the release of the EP:) This was personally one of those life goals I always had and after all coincidences we got this EP done and it felt just great being part of it. Album art work I think it’s still cool, and we were proud of sending the EP to all over the world and I recall we received decent feedback from different magazines / record labels (still can be found online).

The Wash:

Tuomas: What can I say? The track that introduces Trident to the world, a solid “street metal” banger! An unholy alliance of groove metal and death metal riffing. Unfortunately time has not handled the production very well, but hey, it’s been over ten years and “Chained To Routines” was basically done on a zero budget! The title of the song comes from the feel of the chorus riff.

Aleksi: Washing the E-string is too underrated and we definitely wanted to utilize it. To this song it ended up as quite simple form which is never wrong and it helps playing it live well in tipsy mode.
