The Awakening

Tuomas: The Magnum Opus of “Chained To Routines”! Quite a long song with many parts. The piece has a nice OG-metalcore feel to it. If I remember correctly, this one came together quite easily, just badass riff after riff!

Matias: If I remember correctly this one changed a lot during the process, where especially the intro-riff got an upgrade, but it kept its ferocious feeling even though we just kept pushing the track forward.

Aleksi: Correct me if I'm wrong, but I recall this being the most collaborative song on this album among the members. Everybody brought a piece of it and It’s the riff gallery of the album, obviously. I recall almost all the riffs were ready by each of us and we just put them together, although the arrangement took its own time. This song is best known for Matias' composition of the C-part’s awkwardly-unique-mean riff. We had the desire to compose a long riff rally song and that's what The Awakening is about. Playing the intro riff in a packed Factory club in Helsinki was something euphoric lol.
